We can offer Booked Telephone Support appointments for:

        • parents whose baby or child of any age has died

        • parents whose baby or child of any age is approaching the end of their life

        • parents/carers supporting children or young people (up to age 25), if someone close to them is not expected to live, or has died.

Although the idea of a phone call may seem to be counter-intuitive, when people are grieving, the distance works well as there is no pressure to sit in a room and have a mask. To be able be in your own home and have someone join you remotely is fantastic.

- Bereaved father

Your pre-arranged call is usually monthly, and lasts for around an hour.  It is with the same specialist bereavement support practitioner each time, and, following an initial conversation, the practitioner will call you at a mutually agreed date and time.  They use a quiet, confidential space and you are asked to do the same, if possible, so that the best support can be given to you.

This professional service is free and is available for those living anywhere in the UK.

There is no set number of sessions, and the service aims to support you with your specific needs and issues around your own bereavement.

Booked telephone support has been a lifeline for our family. Child Bereavement UK really understand grief, especially the way it presents over time, and in so many different ways.
