Celebrities Claudia Winkleman and Rory Bremner represented Child Bereavement UK at the annual BGC Charity Day on 11th September. They joined dozens of other big-name stars who took over the trading floor at BGC Partners, Inc. in Canary Wharf for one day only, to raise millions of pounds for charitable causes.

BGC and its affiliated companies host Charity Day in commemoration of BGC’s 658 colleagues and the 61 Eurobrokers employees who lost their lives in the World Trade Center attacks in 2001.

100% of global revenues raised on the day are donated to participating charities and the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund. Now in its 14th year, BGC Charity Day has raised over $147 million globally to date.

Strictly Come Dancing’s Claudia Winkleman took to the trading floor for the morning session and proved to be a solid ‘ten’ as she sealed the deal. Commenting on the day, Claudia said:

I’m delighted to have represented Child Bereavement UK at the BGC Charity Day. Taking part in the trades and meeting representatives of the charity was fantastic. I’m extremely proud to be associated with Child Bereavement UK, the work they do to help rebuild lives is extraordinary.

The afternoon session saw impressionist and comedian Rory Bremner making an impression on BGC staff as he recruited ‘Donald Trump’ and ‘Boris Johnson’ to help with his trades. He later tweeted:
