A BEREAVEMENT charity is benefitting from the support of a local Christmas Tree Festival in Kendal.

The Holy Trinity Parish Church is hosting their fifth annual Christmas Tree Festival on dates throughout December and Child Bereavement UK is one of the forty charities benefitting from support of the local people attending.

Each of the forty trees inside the church represents a different charity and people are asked to decorate them in their own unique festive style.

Leone Edwards, from Kendal, will be attending the event and decorating the tree representing Child Bereavement UK after receiving support from the charity after the death of her daughter in 2013. Leone said;

I think the Christmas Tree Festival is a wonderful event, it gives bereaved people the opportunity to remember their loved ones and meet other bereaved families in a warm and welcoming environment. My children also find it therapeutic creating new decorations and putting them on the tree. It’s also feels quite magical being surrounded by so many beautifully decorated trees, I’d recommend it to everyone.
