What we provide for the education sector

Child Bereavement UK has a dedicated education team with a background in the sector. We offer support, guidance, training and resources around the topics of loss, death and grief to education professionals in a wide range of settings. This includes, but is not limited to: nurseries, early years, primary schools, secondary schools, SEND settings, colleges and universities.     

Support and guidance

We can provide support in a variety of circumstances including pre-bereavement, the death of a pupil or member of staff, supporting bereaved pupils, managing multiple bereavements, a death within the community/high-profile deaths, support for specialist settings, bereavement policy development, and staff wellbeing.

Bespoke training for your setting 

Bereavement support training can be delivered within staff meeting time or as part of a training day. The content typically covers children’s understanding of death, grief, strategies for support, theories of grief, and staff wellbeing. The content can be tailored to your specific requirements.

• Strategies for working with bereaved pupils in school | Online training | 3 hours
  This is a practical workshop which can be delivered in person and is suitable for all staff
• We can provide support training for all staff in immediate response to the death of a pupil or colleague
