Baroness Newlove visits bereavement charity in Runcorn

BARONESS NEWLOVE paid a visit to the offices of Child Bereavement UK in Runcorn this week to find out more about the work they do supporting families and educating professionals when a child grieves and when a child dies.

Baroness Newlove of Warrington is a community reform campaigner who was appointed as the Victims’ Commissioner by the government in 2013.

As part of her visit to Child Bereavement UK, the Baroness met with bereavement support practitioners and volunteers, and some of the young people who are part of the charity’s Young People’s Advisory Group. She also met with the Child Bereavement UK team who provide the Homicide Peer Support Service for England and Wales.

I really enjoyed the visit and left with quite a lot of knowledge that I didn’t have before. The work that Child Bereavement UK does is so important and everyone was lovely. The young people I met have had great support from this organisation.
