This online training will provide attendees with practical ideas on using creative ways to communicate with young people, allowing them to be more open about their feelings in a supportive environment. Who is this training for? This training is suitable for individuals whose work brings them into contact with grieving children and young people, for example: education professionals, health and social care staff, faith leaders, emergency service personnel, and charities. We recommend that families attend our webinar: Supporting a bereaved child - for parents, families and carers. Attendees should prepare the following materials for the session: Small clean jar such as a jam jar Table salt (enough to fill the jar plus a bit more) Spoons and paper plates or newspaper Coloured chalks Paper Coloured pens A selection of buttons/stickers or shiny shapes What will I learn? During this training, you will: Identify the importance of helping bereaved children find ways to express themselves and their feelings. Gain a deeper understanding of what helps children when they are grieving. Experience creative ways of helping children and families. Explore activities that will promote resilience and help children safely express their feelings and thoughts and share their memories. Develop an awareness of the challenges of the work and the importance of looking after yourself. Receive information about Child Bereavement UK and other support organisations, and resources available. Booking details £50 per person. A ticket plus book option is available to purchase for £80 and includes a copy of Mark Denney's book: 'Activities for working with bereaved young people', which will be posted to attendees after the training.
