Become a Lived Experience Ambassador!

Our Lived Experience Ambassadors ensure they put the voices of our beneficiaries at the heart of our brand, service and goals and use this to lead the direction of our charity. Together, we shape projects, services, and content that truly reflects the diverse experiences of being a parent bereaved of a child.

By sharing your experiences, you’ll help Child Bereavement UK reach even more bereaved parents with the support they need.

As a Lived Experience Ambassador you will be offered involvement in a range of opportunities to:

Provide insights and opinions into our services and content.
Share your lived experience to support others to feel less alone.
Contribute to research to make change.
Support and shape Child Bereavement UK campaigns.
Take part in making decisions about our new projects.
Help to create new resources and materials.
Be involved in interviewing staff.
Have a say and help us to shape the way we communicate.
Have the opportunity to represent Child Bereavement UK at events.
Work alongside staff members and share skills.
Meet others and form a community of change makers.
Act as an Ambassador for the work of Child Bereavement UK.

Who can apply?

Any parent bereaved of a baby or child who died or is expected to die before their 26th birthday. You don’t need any skills to join – just a willingness to share your voice and experience to help improve and shape support for others.

Child Bereavement UK wants to make sure every bereaved child, young person and parent gets the support they need. To achieve this, we need a wide range of Lived Experience Ambassadors to share their experiences – particularly those who are often unheard and underrepresented. We actively welcome members from diverse backgrounds, communities and needs.

Fill out an application form, then one of our team will be in touch to arrange an initial call to share more about the role and how you can get involved.
