We are delighted to announce that Nicola Gilham BA FCA has been appointed as Child Bereavement UK’s Head of Charity. 

This follows the retirement of our long-serving Chief Executive, Ann Chalmers MBE, in September, and a short interim position.

Nicola brings over fourteen years’ experience with Child Bereavement UK during which time she served as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, Chair of the Risk and Governance Committee, and was a member of both the Remuneration and Investment Committees. She is a qualified chartered accountant, was formerly CEO of an HR recruitment business, and holds a portfolio of non-executive roles as a Board Advisor within the third sector. 

Nicola will be working part time for Child Bereavement UK and will play a key role in the recruitment of the charity’s new, permanent CEO in 2025. We are confident that Nicola’s vast experience combined with her passion and commitment for the cause and the sector will steer the charity into an exciting next phase, building strong foundations for the future and bringing us closer to our vision for all families to have access to the support they need after the devastation of child bereavement.
