Violin duo Red Hot Strings are hoping to top the charts this Christmas to raise funds for Child Bereavement UK.

The electrical/classical string duet are re-releasing their recording of festive favourite ‘Fairytale of New York’ in aid of the charity in a bid for the Christmas number one. The festive season can be a particularly difficult time for grieving families and the duo hope to raise funds to support the charity’s vital work at Christmas and beyond.

Child Bereavement UK helps families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. We support children and young people (up to the age of 25) when someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, and parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying. We provide training to professionals in health and social care, education, and the voluntary and corporate sectors, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.

Red Hot Strings, an electric/classic violin duo, are innovative musicians and dynamic stage performers. The combined powerhouse of Lisa Rollin and Sarah Mallock have performed with artists such as Annie Lennox, Adele, Boyzone and Madonna.

'Fairytale of New York' by Red Hot Strings can be downloaded for a donation of 79p from most streaming platforms from 28 November 2025.
