Child Bereavement UK is asking everyone to put on their cosiest knitwear this December and fundraise to help its work supporting bereaved families and children. Individuals, groups, companies, schools, and communities are being invited to get festive on the first ever Winter Woolly Wednesday on 2nd December, wrapping up warm in hats, scarves, gloves and jumpers while making a small donation to the charity.

Child Bereavement UK helps children and young people (up to the age of 25), parents, and families, to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. The charity also provides training to professionals, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.

Sophie Paley, Director of Fundraising for Child Bereavement UK said:

Wherever you are or whoever you’re with, you can be part of the fun on Winter Woolly Wednesday. Nearly everyone has something woolly in their wardrobe, so we’re asking you to pull on your knitwear to show you care, while raising funds to help us support bereaved families and children.

To take part simply wear your winter woolly for Child Bereavement UK on 2nd December and make a donation of  £2, or £1 for nurseries, schools or youth groups, via the charity’s website.  Then take a photo of yourself in your knitwear and share on social media with the hashtag #WinterWoollyWeds and tag @cbukhelp, nominating your friends to wear their woolly and donate too.

To help spread the word, Child Bereavement UK has also provided some great resources for fundraisers via their website, including fun social media graphics, posters and an email signature.
