These paper flowers can include messages inside about the special person who has died and can be made in memory on a birthday or special occasion such as Mother's Day.

You will need:

• Paper (patterned or bright coloured)
• A straw(s)
• A pencil
• Scissors
• Sticky tape

Instructions:

1. With your pencil, draw an outline of your hand on the paper

2. With the scissors, cut out the outline

3. At this point you can add any messages you want to include

4. Using the straw, curl each one of the fingers of the handprint outwards

5. Curl the bottom of the hand shape into a cone - leave a small hole at the tip of the cone, just large enough to fit a straw through

6. Use a piece of sticky tape to hold the shape together

7. Take the straw and poke it through the middle of the handprint flower
