Who is this training for? This training is suitable for individuals whose work brings them into contact with children and young people anticipating the death of someone important, for example: health and social care staff, hospice staff, faith leaders, emergency service personnel, and charities. We recommend that bereaved families attend our webinar: Supporting a bereaved child - for parents, families and carers. What will I learn? During this training, you will: Increase your awareness of how children and young people understand and respond to loss, death and bereavement, across all the age ranges. Gain an understanding of the theories of loss and grieving in relation to children and young people. Gain an understanding of the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that accompany preparing for the death of somebody important. Develop knowledge of practical strategies and gain greater confidence in supporting children and young people anticipating the death of someone important to them. Identify ways of looking after yourself and recognise why this is important. Receive information about Child Bereavement UK and other support organisations, and resources available.
