This training is suitable for individuals whose work brings them into contact with families anticipating the death of a child, for example: health and social care staff, hospice staff, faith leaders, emergency service personnel, and charities. What will I learn? During this training, you will: Gain a deeper understanding of the experience and perspective of families from the point of diagnosis. Recognise when and how loss is experienced by families when a child or young person has a life-limiting illness and complex needs. Gain an understanding of the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that accompany preparing for the death of somebody important. Explore the needs of the dying child from the child’s perspective. Develop your knowledge of practical strategies and gain greater confidence in supporting family members anticipating the death of a child. Develop an awareness of the challenges of the work and the importance of looking after yourself. Receive information about Child Bereavement UK and other support organisations, and resources available. Booking details £50 per person.
