We help you to understand the impact of bereavement by suicide on families and increase your confidence when communicating with bereaved children and families.

Who should attend?

All those whose work brings them into contact with young people who have been bereaved by suicide.

Learning outcomes

You will:

  • To gain a greater understanding of the additional challenges faced by children, young people and families bereaved by suicide.
  • To develop greater confidence in providing support to, and communicating with, children and young people bereaved by suicide.
  • To gain an awareness of how children respond to frightening events and when further support may be required.
  • To increase awareness of the effect on us when working with families bereaved by suicide and to explore ways of supporting ourselves.
  • To gain information about Child Bereavement UK, other support organisations and resources available to support children and young people bereaved by suicide.

Cost: £45

We encourage prospective participants to consider their own experience of loss and how it might affect them during training. Our training is not usually suited to anyone who has suffered a recent, significant personal loss or bereavement.
