Bereaved teenagers and young adults face a range of challenges which can make coping with bereavement and grief difficult. We give you an insight into the challenges they can face and how bereavement models relate to teenagers and young people.

Suitable for professionals who work with grieving teenagers, in whatever capacity.

Learning outcomes

You will:

  • Explore the world of the teenager and develop a deeper understanding of the struggles that teenagers face.
  • Gain an understanding of the theories of loss and grieving in relation to teenagers.
  • Recognise the diverse needs of bereaved teenagers.
  • Explore your own experiences of loss and the potential impact of this when observing the grief of others.
  • Identify ways to encourage emotional literacy in adolescents.
  • Gain information about Child Bereavement UK and other support organisations and resources available.

Cost: £45

We encourage prospective participants to consider their own experience of loss and how it might affect them during training. Our training is not usually suited to anyone who has suffered a recent, significant personal loss or bereavement.
