Flappy has been a great friend to Child Bereavement UK over the years and has played a pivotal role in many fundraising events to benefit the charity including The Private House Polo Challenge and The Mitsubishi Badminton Horse Trials. She headed up our Christmas Carol Concerts at Holy Trinity, Brompton, and a dinner in 2010 at Windsor Castle attended by Prince William.

Flappy’s book A Heartbeat Away is an anthology of writings on the themes of grief, bereavement and loss, and hope, humour and love. Flappy’s son, Harry Sidebottom, had a fatal car accident in 1999 aged 24, and her step-granddaughter, Molly Lane Fox, died of an inoperable brain tumour in 2008, aged only 5.

Flappy said:

These two have remained my constant driving force, and have inspired me to help to ensure the continuance of this inspirational charity.
