Fundraising support from community groups and clubs is vital to Child Bereavement UK. You are the heartbeat of your local communities; places where like-minded people get together to enjoy activities, socialising and shared interests. Whether you are a golf club, bowling club, Rotary or a community group with a shared interest, we would love to have your support. Here are just some suggestions about how you could get involved and make a difference to the children, young people and families we support.

Quiz nights

Why not test your general or specialised knowledge by organising your own quiz night at your club? You can raise money by charging an entrance fee for teams or by having a ‘financial penalty’ pot for wrong answers. Don’t forget to have a good prize for the winning team, perhaps donated by a local company. Here is a sample quiz to help get you started.

Race night

Race nights are an exciting way to fundraise. There are special rules which must be observed when organising an event of this kind. For further information please contact your Child Bereavement UK Regional Fundraising Manager, or you can get more guidance on the rules here.

Charity sports event

If you are a sports club, what better way to raise funds than to organise a competition for your members? You can charge a team entrance fee, incorporate ‘financial penalties’ to add to the fun, and add activities such as a raffle or tombola. Why not ask your members to source and donate prizes? We are here to help you, so please get in touch. You can find further guidance on rules for raffles and tombolas here.

Open mic night

Do you have any group or club members who are itching to share their talent with the world?  Open mic nights are becoming increasingly popular as a fundraiser. You could charge an entry fee to attend and a fee to perform as well. Why not host your event in your clubhouse, social club or local licenced establishment? Perhaps you could ask them if they can allow you to use their venue for free - they might be glad of the extra custom at the bar!

Chosen charity

We can offer a bespoke package of support to community groups and clubs which opt to support us as a chosen charity over a period of time. We can assist you with organising a raft of different events during this time, and your Child Bereavement UK Fundraising Manager will be only too happy to guide and support you throughout. No matter how ambitious your plans, we will make sure our partnership with you is mutually beneficial.

Fundraising in your community

If you would like to help with bucket collections, bag packing in local supermarkets, or would be willing to have a collecting tin in your club house or venue, please get in touch with your Child Bereavement UK Regional Fundraising Manager.

We want to make sure you get all the support you need, so if you can’t find what you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to contact us: 01494 569 048 or email [email protected]
